National Chocolate Milkshake Day
Did you know that September 12th is National Chocolate Milkshake Day?
It’s true -it’s the day of the year officially dedicated to indulging your sweet tooth.
Although the concept of milkshakes have been around since 1885 (back then, the recipe called for a shot of whiskey!), the modern incarnation was invented by a Walgreen’s employee in Chicago in 1922.
According to CNN, this brilliant inventor “added two scoops of ice cream to a drink called a malted milk.”
And, thus, history was made.

Classic Chocolate Shake
2 scoops vanilla ice cream
1 cup of milk (any kind)
A healthy drizzle of chocolate syrup
Nutella Mocha Shake
1 frozen banana (or two scoops of vanilla ice cream)
2 Tbs Nutella
½ cup cold coffee
½ cup vanilla almond (or coconut) milk
Chocolate Peanut Butter Shake
2 scoops of chocolate ice cream
1 Tbs peanut butter (or PB2)
1 cup vanilla (or chocolate) almond milk
Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Shake
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup vanilla almond milk
1 scoop of vanilla or chocolate ice cream
A healthy drizzle of chocolate syrup
