Woman Puts Up Middle Finger Christmas Lights to Flip the Bird at Her Neighbors
A woman in Louisiana might have secured a spot at the top of Santa's naughty list, thanks to her holiday decorations.
Sarah Henderson purposely arranged her light display in the shape of a hand giving the middle finger - because nothing says "Merry Christmas" quite like flipping your whole neighborhood the bird.
She explained that the message was meant for some of her neighbors, with whom she has been having an ongoing dispute.
"They put themselves into affairs of mine that they had no business in," she told WBRZ. ‘They spread vicious lies throughout the neighborhood."
Henderson was forced to remove the decorations after police informed her that it was in violation of obscenity laws - and that if the display stayed in place, she faced a possible $300 or $400 fine.
(An odd interpretation of "the holiday spirit")
"Christmas lights should be something for kids to enjoy," one neighbor told reporters.
But not everyone thinks that Henderson's light display should be extinguished.
The ACLU sent a letter to the Denham Springs police, stating the city has no right to "restrict Henderson's expression purely because it, or Henderson's neighbors, finds it vulgar or offensive."
In the meantime, the mom of four has said she is thinking about replacing the extended finger with a swastika.
Way to stay classy, Ms. Henderson.
