Three kids from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan were sent to a juvenile detention facility by a judge for refusing to have lunch and a ‘healthy relationship’ with their dad. By the way, one of these kids is only 9 years old.
The Tsimhoni’s were in family court discussing supervised parenting time when the Judge criticized the three children (ages 9, 10, and 14) for not spending time with their father. According to court documents, Judge Lisa Gorcyca compared the children to Charles Manson and his cult. She ordered the children to apologize to their dad and go to lunch with him. The children refused and the oldest son explained to the judge that he isn’t talking to his dad because “I have a reason for that and that’s because he’s violent and he — I saw him hit my mom and I’m not going to talk to him.”
Guess what the judge did? She found them in contempt and sent each child to the city’s juvenile hall. And not just for a few weeks, but until they are 18 years old.
The children are separated and ordered to be kept apart from each other. Neither their mother or any family member can visit them.
The children’s mother, Maya, is fighting to get the kids back – they have been there for over 2 weeks. The documents state that the case will be reviewed in September. Their father has the power to get them released but he left the country for work and is expected to be gone for two weeks.
The judge thinks the children have been brainwashed. The mother states that the last five years have been tough and they have been in and out of court with a messy divorce and allegations of parental kidnapping and alienation according to MyFoxDetroit News.
We obviously don’t know all the answers in this case but do you think sending three children to juvenile hall is the answer?
