Strollers Recalled Due to Amputation and Laceration Hazards

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled Jogging Strollers by phil&teds USA Inc. When folding and unfolding the stroller, your finger can get caught in the hinge mechanism, posing laceration and amputation hazards. Eek!

Phil&teds has received three reports of incidents resulting in injuries. In one case, a finger tip amputation occurred.

This recall involves sport v2 and classic v1 model single-seat jogging strollers. The strollers have three wheels, a metal frame, cloth seat and a canopy.

The strollers were sold in specialty stores from May 2009 to July 2010 for between $350 and $450.

Contact phil&ted USA for a free hinge-cover kit and repair instructions.
