The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on Wednesday that Kohler Co., the popular home utility brand, has recalled roughly 100 glass shower doors under the Purist, Pinstripe and Finial brands. These glass shower doors are built with hinge panel that is prone to shattering, posing a serious laceration hazard.
Manufactured in the United States, these shower doors were sold at various plumbing stores nationwide between May 2009 and November 2010 for between $1,700 and $3,000.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled shower doors and contact Kohler for a free replacement hinge panel. An authorized service representative from Kohler will come to your home and replace the old hinge with the updated one, free of charge.
