Pottery Barn Kids Doll Recalled

More than 82,000 dolls in the United States and Canada were recalled by Pottery Barn Kids because they pose a potential strangulation hazard.

The Chloe and Sophie soft dolls have loops that may be large enough to fit around a child’s head and neck, and the Audrey soft dolls has a headband that can also form a loop around the head and neck if loosened. So far, the company has received five reports of problems as a result of these loops, although so far no injuries have been reported.

The dolls, which were manufactured in China, measure about 17 inches high and have hair made of yarn. Audrey’s hair is black, Chloe’s hair is dark brown and Sophie’s hair is blonde. They are part of Pottery Barn Kids’ Girl Doll Collection, and the doll’s name can be found on a tag sewn onto her bottom.

They were sold in Pottery Barn Kids stores nationwide, through the company’s website and through Pottery Barn Kids catalogs from July 2006 to April 2011 for about $40.

If you have one of these dolls, you should take it away from your child immediately and cut the looped hair and/or remove the headband. Consumers can also call Pottery Barn Kids at (855) 880-4504 for instructions on how to return the affected products for a merchandise credit.
