Lawn Tractor Recall

John Deere has issued a recall on about 5,200 lawn tractors. The D100 Lawn Tractor contains faulty hardware used to hold the brake assembly to the transmission housing. The hardware can break causing the breaks to fail and cause customers to lose control of the tractor. There have been no reported injuries to date.

The recalled lawn tractors are green with yellow seats and mower decks. Tractors with the following serial numbers are included in the recall:

1GXD100A…BB051247 thru 1GXD100A…BB053312
1GXD100E…BB114388 thru 1GXD100E…BB139599

The lawn tractor can be found at John Deere dealers, Lowe’s, and Home Depot stores nationwide, except in California. The company asks consumers to immediately stop using the product and to contact John Deere for a free hardware inspection and repair. For more information, contact Deere & Company at (800) 537-8233 or visit the firm’s website at www.johndeere.com.
