Target has recalled about 304,000 of their Chefmate® 6-Speed Blenders.
The blender was sold exclusively at Target store nationwide from September 2077 to February 2011 for around $14. While in use, the plastic pitcher of the blender can separate from the blade assembly, leaving the rotating blades exposed.
Reports of serious lacerations to consumers’ fingers and hands have been reported due to the faulty blender.
The recall includes Chefmate® 6-Speed Blenders with the model number BL-10. The model number can be found on the bottom base of the blender. The blender has a white base measuring six inches tall, five white speed-selector buttons, one gray “Pulse/Off” button, and the word “Chefmate®” printed in black letters on the front.
The blender also includes a clear, plastic pitcher with U.S. and metric volume measurement markings; a white plastic lid with a removable clear plastic lid stopper; and a white plastic blade assembly with two blades.
Target asks consumers to stop using the product immediately and to return them to any Target store for a full refund.
