Modern Mom Hummus

In a food processor fitted with a steel blade, process garlic until finely minced. Add garbanzo beans, tahini paste, salt, lemon juice, cumin, olive oil and moistened pita or bread. Process until smooth. Add water to adjust desired consistency. Chill. Garnish with olive oil, paprika and parsley. Serve with crackers, raw dip vegetables such as carrots or celery, or with pita bread. You can cut the pita into thin triangles, brush with olive oil and toast for 10 minutes in a 400 degree oven to make pita chips to serve with the hummus. Delicious!

  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 cans garbanzo beans
  • 1/4 cup tahini paste
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • Pinch paprika
  • Pinch parsley
  • 1/2 piece of pita or bread, moistened with water
