The Kindness of Strangers

Over the years, I’ve experienced more than a few exciting plane trips involving throw up, overflowing diapers, and sleepless toddlers. So you can imagine how relaxing and luxurious it was for me to fly solo to NYC for work a few weeks ago (even if it was the redeye). Upon landing, I hopped a cab to the JFK Holiday Inn Express to catch a few hours of sleep. For once, I had so few belongings / people to worry about: just myself, a roller bag, and a small carry-on bag with no Cheerios or crayons anywhere near it. And my laptop, of course… which I promptly left on the back seat of the cab.
