Alicia Keys Hopes to Be A Charitable Role Model

Singer Alicia Keys, expecting her first child with husband Swizz Beatz later this fall, planned and hosted the seventh annual Black Ball for her ‘Keep a Child Alive’ foundation.

Alicia co-founded the organization to raise money to support families affected by HIV and AIDS. Not only that, she hopes to pass on her charitable ways to her child.

“The baby is going to see everything we do and I think that we are giving individuals,” she said. “[Even] something small like reaching out to one person in the world can change that one person. That’s a big deal. I plan to show that [to my child].

The star-studded event was attended by Usher, Uma Thurman, Whitney Houston and performers included Jay-Z, Janelle Monae, Sade and Keys herself! The event raised $2.4 million for AIDS care in Africa and India.
