How to Make Organic Candy

If you have ever thought that you’ve felt better after eating chocolate candy, chances are, you probably did. That’s because eating chocolate triggers the release of feel-good hormones. If you like the feeling that you get from eating chocolate and you are an environmentalist at heart, making and eating your own organic candy may make you feel even better.

Step 1

Place the organic melting chocolate into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave the chocolate on half-power for one minute. Stir it and microwave it for an additional minute. Repeat this process until the organic chocolate has the consistency of syrup.

Step 2

Put the melted organic chocolate into a squeeze bottle. Using a squeeze bottle allows for more control when filling the candy molds.

Step 3

Squeeze the melted chocolate into the mold cavities. Be sure that the chocolate is level and remove any air bubbles by tapping the mold lightly on the top of your workspace.

Step 4

Let the chocolate harden. To speed up the hardening process, place the candy-filled mold into the refrigerator or freezer. Using a freezer is the best option since it’s quickest, and the finished product will appear shinier and will be easier to remove from the molds. The candy will take five to 10 minutes, depending on the size of the molds, to harden in the freezer. If using the refrigerator, it will take longer.

Step 5

Remove the candy from the molds. Take the molds out of the freezer, and turn them upside down over the counter. Gently, tap each mold cavity to remove the candy. If the candy doesn’t come out right away, gently invert the mold cavity to release it.
