Exclusive: Angie Harmon on Love, Parenting and Football!

ModernMom recently sat down with the talented Angie Harmon to discuss family, life and love. Angie is a classic beauty who got her start on Baywatch, became well-known through her role on Law & Order and is now starring in the TNT show, Rizzoli & Isles. She has three young daughters, Finley, Avery and Emery with her husband, former NFL star Jason Sehorn. Angie is a true ModernMom!

ModernMom: What is most surprising about being a mom?
Angie Harmon: How humbling and rewarding it is all at the same time. These little people amaze me in their honesty and curiosity

MM: What is the best piece of parenting advice you ever got?
AH: Remember it will pass.

MM: How have you changed since becoming a parent?
AH: I’ve certainly become more protective of my family time & my time off. My time is the one of the most precious things now.

MM: What’s the first word that pops into your head when I say “mom”?
AH: Protective.

MM: What’s the craziest thing you’ve done because you were a sleep-deprived mom?
AH: One time I put the box of cereal in the fridge and the milk in the pantry.

MM: What has been your favorite on-screen role? Why?
AH: Jane Rizzoli. She’s real, tough & a smart ass that doesn’t have to bow down to any man.

MM: Why is the "Relieve My Fever" contest for a cause important to you?
AH: I decided to partner with Children’s Advil for the Relieve My Fever Contest because I think that it’s wonderful that they have teamed up with the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, which is an organization that helps millions of children each year. This is a fun contest to do with your kids, if they are feeling bad, or even if they’re not feeling bad. You can go on the website, RelieveMyFever.com, perform your video and spend some good quality time with your kids. Not only do you have a chance to win $15,000, but for every entry and vote at RelieveMyFever.com, Children’s Advil will donate money to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

MM: How do you balance working, "me" time, and mommyhood?
AH: If I knew the answer to that I’d be a bazillionaire! I just know that when I’ve had enough I need to step out with a friend and go see a movie or get a glass of wine or just talk.

MM: Your hubby is a football star. Do you and your girls love the game?
AH: Of course…its football!!

MM: How do you manage so many girls?! Are you worried about dating when they get older?
AH: No, I know that that’s when Jason is going to be a wreck and I can take over with all the "girlie communication."
