Dan Gordon-Levitt, also known as Burning Dan, passed away Tuesday at the young age of 36. The brother of "Inception" actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Burning Dan was a fire-spinning flow artist, performance artist, and regular at the Burning Man Festival.
The cause of this unfortunate death is not known at this time, but brother Joseph broke the sad news Tuesday night via Twitter: "My super hero brother @burningdan 1974-2010. Celebrate his life here ~ http://bit.ly/dBTMQ8 because he’s f****** awesome."
Joseph and Dan Gordon-Levitt were very close to each other. Dan even showed his admiration for Joseph in an interview, saying "It’s wonderful to be mistaken for him. He taught me to question the relationships other people have with their siblings because he would be my favorite person in the world even if I wasn’t lucky enough to know him as my brother."
Burning Dan's Facebook page is already teeming with tributes to the fiery performer, but his brother's words stood out the most, saying that he "brightly embodied that bold beastly bliss sometimes referred to as ‘the creative spirit.'"
