Sandra Bullock has beat out some of Hollywood's leading ladies, including Natalie Portman and Angelina Jolie, for the top spot in negotiations for the starring role in Alfonso Cuaron's 3-D sci-fi flick, "Gravity." Sandra would play the only survivor of a deadly space mission who tries to get back home to her daughter. She may star opposite Robert Downey Jr, but the film would focus on the leading lady.
Cuaron is the talented director of films like "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" and "Children of Men."
Angelina and Natalie reportedly could not fit shooting the movie into their schedule. Apparently, Angelina's asking price was also too high for the filmmakers.
But, Sandra seems to know a good thing when it's in front of her face. This would be her first role after winning an Oscar for Best Actress for her role in "The Blind Side." Sandra was given this leading role after Julia Roberts passed on it. Make magic happen again, Sandy!
