Miss Kentucky Latina Daniela Gaskie has lost her crown in the face of assault charges after being accused of beating a woman and stabbing a man in the neck with a pen in an alleged drunken attack.
Last week, the 22-year-old reigning Miss Kentucky Latina was arrested for these attacks on a gas station attendant and a pharmacist, who were injured but will survive. Gaskie got mad at the male gas station attendant, stabbed him in the neck and ran across the street to the drugstore's parking lot where she proceeded to beat up a car. The owner of the car, Mary Ann McKinney, came out and said, "Excuse me, but you've got the wrong car."
Gaskie then "went into a mad rage" and started beating the pharmacist up.
"She kicked me in the stomach, tore off my glasses, my glasses ended up on the pavement, tore at my back, busted my lip, knocked up a bump on head," McKinney said. "I still have a knot on the back of my head."
The beauty queen says that she was racially profiled, while authorities claim she was under the influence of alcohol when she attacked her victims.
She was additionally charged with disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. Her scheduled court appearance is Oct. 19.
