Sex and the City’s Candace Bushnell Files For Divorce

Carrie and Big were able to work through marital infidelity, but it looks like that won’t be the case for Sex and the City creator Candace Bushnell and her husband of nine years, ballet dancer Charles Askegard.

The 53-year-old writer has filed for divorce, claiming in court papers that Askegard had an affair with fellow ballerina Georgina Pazcoguin, according to the New York Post.

The two dancers worked together as part of the NYC Ballet for eight years, until Askegard left in October to form his own company. Pazcoguin has even reportedly attended parties at the couple’s Manhattan apartment.

Bushnell released a statement about the divorce, saying “We had some wonderful times in our nine-year marriage, and I still care about Charles as a person. I respect his desire to pursue his own happiness and hope that we will continue to be friends in the future.”
