Katie Couric Splits From Boyfriend Brooks Perlin

It looks like Katie Couric is flying solo once again, having split from boyfriend of five years, entrepreneur Brooks Perlin. 

Apparently the two were just “at different stages of their careers,” a friend of Couric’s told PEOPLE. 

The 54-year-old news anchor met Perlin, 37, at a charity event to raise money for cancer research in 2006. They had been living together on the Upper East Side, but a source told the New York Post that “Brooks is in the process of moving out of her home.”

Couric has a lot going on to keep her mind of the break up –  her new syndicated daytime talk show will start next September. She’s also been raising two children as a single mom since losing her husband, Jay Monahan, to colon cancer in 1998.
