Rod Stewart is reuniting with Sarah Streeter, the daughter he and former flame Susannah Boffey gave up for adoption when they were teenagers. When Sarah's adoptive mother died three years ago, the rock star and his daughter have become closer.
"She was put up for adoption when I was 17 or 18, I think," Rod revealed on Thursday's Joy Behar Show. He said that keeping the baby at such as a teen just wasn't feasible for him: "I was absolutely stone broke … and so she was put up for adoption."
Rod has had some contact with his daughter, but now their relationship is more steady.
"Now we're at the start of a new chapter, and that's wonderful," Sarah told the Daily Mail. And, she isn't holding a grudge either, saying, "there's no anger there. I never was angry about what happened really, just sad. But now I'm older I see things differently and realize that it has been as difficult for him over the years as it has been for me."
Sarah is 8 years older than Penny Lancaster, Rod's current wife. Also, when Penny's baby is born, Sarah will be almost 5 decades older than Rod's youngest kid. At least Rod's not afraid to be an "older dad."
