The newest Miss World is Alexandria Mills from Louisville, Kentucky! The beautiful and talented 18-year-old won the 60th annual competition on October 30, beating out 114 other centenders from around the globe. The contest, held in southern China, named Emma Wareus from Botswana the second place winner, and Adriana Vasini of Venezuela the third place holder.
Mills, a recent high school graduate, is a true sweetheart and says, "I've never met a stranger and enjoymeeting new people." Her pageant-mates nicknamed her "KFC" for Kentucky Fried Chicken during the competition, which is ironic, she says, because she's a vegetarian!
For the final round, the soft spoken Kentucky girl wore a glittering ivory colored dress with a slit up the leg. She takes the crown from Kaiane Aldorino of Gibraltar, who was named Miss World 2009 at a ceremony in South Africa last December.
Hopefully she'll represent our nation well!
