After a long journey to start a family, Giuliana and Bill Rancic have some very happy news: they’re expecting a baby!
“We are so thrilled that our prayers have been answered,” Giuiliana told E! News.
The couple’s first child is due in the late summer via gestational surrogate, which means it’s their biological child.
They were set up with the surrogate through their doctor in Colorado after their last IVF attempt, they explained to Ann Curry on TODAY.
Giuliana raved that the woman is “a dream come true,” and although she lives in another state, they visit with her every month and accompany her on doctor’s appointments.
The Rancics documented their struggle to conceive – including failed fertility treatments and a heart-wrenching miscarriage – on their hit reality show “Giuliana & Bill.” And the road got even bumpier this past fall, when 37-year-old Giuliana was diagnosed with breast cancer. But after a double mastectomy, she is currently cancer free, and now her dream of becoming a mother is finally coming true.
When doctors confirmed the surrogate was pregnant, “It was pretty much one of the best moments of my life if not the best moment of my life,” she said.
The couple also shared their gratitude at the outpouring of support from fans:
“We received an incredible amount of love and prayers from viewers around the world,” she told E! “and we want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of them for their love.”
