The world's oldest person in the world died today. She was 114.
Eugenia Blanchard lived in the French West Indies and died at a hospital on Saint-Barthelemy island, according to local officials. She was a nun who was born on February 16, 1896.
Daniel Blanchard, her great-nephew, told AFP his theory for why she lived so long. He believed it was because she "had decided to give her virginity to God."
Eugenia Blanchard became the world's oldest person in May when Kama Chinen died a few days before her 115th birthday.
