Music for Mother’s Day

The joys of motherhood…it’s enough to inspire an album! In fact, here are two lovely records made with love by various musical mommys, just in time for Mother’s Day.

Starbucks Entertainment released Every Mother Counts, an album inspired by Christy Turlington’s documentary "No Woman, No Cry". Fifteen artists who are also mothers created tracks exclusively for this record, which raises money for CARE, an organization that benefits mother health-relief efforts around the world. The $8 CD is sold at Starbucks and in the online Starbucks store.

Scarlett Cherry (aka. Mama Cherry) was inspired to make her album, Labor of Love, when she found out she was pregnant with her first child. After discussing with her husband what kind of music they wanted to play for their child, the artists and parents-to-be settled on "a support record for mothers, a little bit of lullaby for baby, and something that ultimately appeals to everyone." Inspire your own mother with songs that reflect the love between parent and child for Mother’s Day. Purchase the CD on Scarlett Cherry‘s website.
