Sport Camps for Kids

If your child seems to never tire of engaging in sports, enrolling him in a summer sports camp may be an effective way to help him build his athletic skills and quench his thirst for physical activity. An array of camps featuring sports programs are available to children. To select your child’s perfect summer escape, consider which sports most strike his fancy, along with how far you want him to venture from home during his camp experience.

Pali Overnight Adventures

If your child’s sport of choice consists of surfing across the water, the Pali Overnight Adventures Watersports Extravaganza may prove the perfect option. This overnight camp offers lessons in classic water skiing, as well as wakeboarding and kneeboarding. Guests even have the option to learn how to jet ski while on their watery adventure. While water sports are the primary focus of this camp, kids can also check out an assortment of other sports while in residence, including cricket, archery and Frisbee golf. This camp is based in Running Springs, California, and is open to teens between the ages of 16 and 18.

Camp Cayuga

Regardless of your child’s sport of choice, he can likely find it at Pennsylvania’s Camp Cayuga. This camp offers kids an array of sports, ensuring that they never tire of having fun in the sun. Each day, children can select from activities including rock climbing, horseback riding, basketball, canoeing and baseball. For an extra fee, campers can try new activities, like flying trapeze and paintball. This camp is located on 350 acres of land in the Poconos Mountains, ensuring that kids have adequate space to run off their energy, and it’s open to boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 15.

NIKE Basketball Camp

If your child is a hardcore B-baller, the NIKE Basketball Camp may be just the place for him to hone his skills. This California-based camp offers basketball skills sessions for both boys and girls. The sessions are offered at an assortment of locations across the country, including sites in Florida, Georgia and Indiana. Participants can elect to enroll in a basic basketball skills program or further customize their skill-building by selecting a Shooting Camp or Post/Perimeter Camp. This camp program aims to not only build participants’ basketball skills, but also enhance their self-confidence so they can step onto the court more sure of their abilities.
