Stylish Shoes You Can Run After Your Kids In
Let’s face it, being a mom limits your shoe selection. Unfortunately, it’s just not that practical to hit the playground in platforms. And showing up to Mommy and Me in hot, 6-inch stilettos will just yield disapproving stares–not compliments on the length of your legs. The good news is that there are tons of cute, comfy and practical-without-being-boring shoes that you can rock while on mommy-duty and still maintain your personal style. Fashion Friday: How to Mix Textures
Black is my number one, when-in-doubt, go-to color. It saves me many a getting-ready catastrophe! Of course, wearing all black, all the time can get a little boring. The antidote to a monotonous all-black ensemble is mixing textures. Dont be afraid to mix leather, lace, suede, knits, and even exotic skins like I do here.
Mom Style: Boots for Every Occasion
Being a mom, a designer and ultimately a shoe-crazed junkie its hard to be practical and still fulfill that need to express myself daily. My easy solution is a great pair of boots. Believe me I love a pair of gorgeous pumps that read caviar and bon bons for lunch but lets get real ladies, whos rocking the 6-inch stilettos to drop off the kids and head into the office? Im not!
Celebrity Fashion Friday
One of my favorite trends for spring is the draped wrap skirt, sometimes called a tulip skirt. This is a figure-flattering silhouette that works for most body types, and I love the elegant detail that the draped fabric creates. So try something new–instead of sticking to your tried-and-true pencil or A-line skirts, I suggest investing in a drape-y style. While it’s still cold out, wear it with high boots or opaque tights and heels.
