Nancy O’Dell to Replace Mary Hart on “Entertainment Tonight”

CBS announced Monday evening that Nancy O'Dell will replace Mary Hart as the host of "Entertainment Tonight"

Nancy left NBC’s rival celebrity tabloid show "Access Hollywood" in December after an alleged feud with co-host Billy Bush. Mary announced she was leaving ET last August, after being with the show since it's inception in 1982.

“Leaving this job was not an easy decision, but knowing I will pass the baton to Nancy O’Dell makes that decision much easier. Nancy is a talented and respected entertainment correspondent. We have spent many years working on opposite sides of the celebrity battlefield; I look forward to now working together, and I know the show will flourish with Nancy as co-anchor,” Mary told PEOPLE Magazine.

“I remember watching ‘Entertainment Tonight’ when it first premiered and dreaming about working for the show someday,” Nancy reacted to the happy news. “I am honored to be the one chosen to fill a TV legend’s seat and I hope I can do her proud!”

Nancy will join the show as a special correspondent and substitute co-anchor in January and will take over her hostess duties after Mary ends her 30th and final season on the show in May.
