Among the other late night shows, Conan O'Brien's new talk show has taken the top spot among younger audiences.
In its premiere episode on TBS Monday, "Conan" reached a whopping 4.1 million viewers, beating out Leno and other late night rivals.
The ratings slipped for the next few days, however, averaging 2.8 million for its second episode and 2.72 for its third — but this is to be expected.
Yes, Jay Leno and David Letterman get higher ratings, but Conan's ratings should be taken into account with the difference in network shows vs. basic cable in mind. If Conan can consistently get about 2.5 million viewers, his show will be considered a success.
