Couple Uses Internet Poll to Decide Abortion

A young couple from Minneapolis, Minnesota has created a site to poll internet users about whether or not they should abort their unborn child. Ridiculous, right? Pete and Alisha Arnold, whose baby is in its 17th week, are asking readers, "Should we give birth or have an abortion?"

The couple says that the results of the poll will help them decide the fate of the child.

The site also features the couple's blog posts, but the main function is the poll. On its homepage, the site states, “You can vote and choose whether we abort or keep our unborn child. For the first time, your vote on the topic of abortion can make a difference.”

The poll currently stands as 80.51% in favor of giving birth, while only 19.49% want the couple to abort the baby. The poll will close on December 7th, two days before the last day they could legally get an abortion.

The couple has experienced three past miscarriages, all from planned pregnancies, leaving us wondering why they are considering abortion at all. This is the longest pregnancy Alisha has had to date and the doctor has said that the baby is developing normally.

Alisha has said that she fears the expectations of being a “perfect wife and mother while maintaining a full-time job.” She also said that she was “afraid that I will eventually regret starting a family and ‘settling down’.”

The couple said, “We don’t see a difference between this and what politicians or supporters do in regards to campaigning”

We think it's irresponsible and just plain dumb that this couple is leaving the fate of their unborn child to people they don't even know. This decision should be well thought out and made only by the couple. What's your opinion?
