Comedy Director Blake Edwards Dies at 88


Blake Edwards, writer and director of comedies like "Victor/Victoria", "Breakfast at Tiffany’s" and the "Pink Panther" movies, died Wednesday evening at the age of 88.

He died from complications of pneumonia. Blake’s wife, Julie Andrews, was by his side at St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, CA.

"He was the most unique man I have ever known-and he was my mate," Julie said in a statement Thursday. "He will be missed beyond words, and will forever be in my heart."
