Homemade Strawberry Ice Cream

I scream, you scream… we all scream for homemade strawberry ice cream!

We used fresh strawberries grown in our yard. You can use any fresh berries in this recipe or substitute with frozen if fresh berries are unavailable. Enjoy!

You will need:

  • 2 cups strawberries, hulled
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract *

*Sass it up: Use Morton & Bassett Premium Pure Vanilla Extract

Directions:

Pulse strawberries in a food processor until finely chopped. Place into a small bowl and set aside.

Place remaining ingredients in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Mix until sugar is dissolved. Fold in strawberries and any juice. Stir to combine.

Cover bowl with plastic wrap and place in refrigerator for 2 hours to overnight.

Turn on Cuisinart ice cream maker, and pour the strawberry ice cream mixture into the freezer bowl.  Mix for approximately 20 minutes until it reaches a sift smooth consistency. If a thicker more solid consistency is desired, scoop ice cream into an airtight container and place in the back of the freezer for 2 hours to overnight. Enjoy!
