27-year-old Jessica Fashano allegedly committed suicide on Saturday by jumping off a Manhattan building. She was an investment banking associate at Citi Global Markets
Ms. Fashano had dedicated much of her life to helping others. She headed the Acumen Fund, which makes business loans to people in developing counties. According to the New York Times, she also helped coordinate a fund-raiser at a New York boutique for a charity that provides modestly priced housing for cardiac patients.
Ms. Fashano entered an apartment building she did not live in, took an elevator to the roof and jumped to her death. She had been undergoing treatment for depression, but friends said she was always in a good mood.
Her friends, family and coworkers were shocked by the news. Jessica’s charitable heart will be missed.
