Activision has announced that their video game Call of Duty: Black Ops has brought in $1 billion since its November 9 launch.
The company made $360 million just on the game day launch alone. Gamers in North America and the United Kingdom just couldn’t wait and bought 5.6 million copies within the first 24 hours it became available.
Within the first five days of its launch, the game generated more than $650 million worldwide, beating the five-day sell through record of $550 million set by last year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Not only that, there’s been 600 million hours of playtime logged since the launch, as well. According to Microsoft, the average Xbox 360 player logs on more than once a day and plays for more than one hour each time, spending over half of their time online.
Do you think your kid spends too much time playing video games? Well, apparently, he’s not alone!
