Fred Foy, whose booming voice announced the arrival of The Lone Ranger TV series in the 1950s, has died at the age of 89. He died of natural causes.

If you ever watched the series, you probably still remember Fred’s spirited voice saying “Hi-Yo, Silver! A fiery horse with the speed of light, a cloud of dust and a hearty ‘Hi-yo Silver – The Lone Ranger!’”

Fred was also the announcer for The Dick Cavett Show. He was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2000.
