How to Make Herbal Baby Gifts

1. Step 1

   Place a generous handful of calendula petals into a jar. Pour olive oil into the jar to fill. While specific quantities are not essential, allow for approximately 1/3 cup of petals to 12 oz.of oil. Cover loosely and place in a sunny window for at least 2 weeks. Alternatively, allow the oil and petals to warm in a slow cooker or crock pot for several hours.

2. Step 2

   Strain the oil carefully, removing all organic matter. Over low heat, warm the oil and add approximately 2 oz. of beeswax granules to every 8 oz. of oil. Pour into wide-mouth containers and allow to cool. The herbal baby salve will be solid when cooled. This salve is excellent for skin irritations of all sorts, as well as diaper rashes.

3. Step 3

   Make a gentle infant massage oil as part of your herbal baby gifts basket. Combine almond oil with a few drops of lavender and Roman chamomile essential oils. Shake well to mix. Pour into an easy-to-use pump bottle for convenience.

4. Step 4

   Use your computer and printer to make attractive labels for your herbal baby gifts. Add printed card stock tags describing the use and ingredients of your handmade herbal baby products.

5. Step 5
