Ideas for a Fun Date

Going to the same old places all the time can get boring. If you're tired of dinner at the same restaurants, going to movies every weekend or meeting at coffee houses, and are aching to try something new, here are some ideas for a fun date that should please both you and your date...continues below

Step 1

Make your date a three-parter. Start with a fun activity to break the ice and relax you both. Move on to food to satisfy your appetites. And end with romance and a chance for you and your date to enjoy some intimacy.
Step 2

Choose an activity both you and your date enjoy and--more importantly--are in the mood for. If you're into nature and in the mood for wide-open spaces, head for the beach. Walk up the dunes. Climb the foothills. Stroll around the nearest park. Are you both into athletics? Go ahead and work out together for a couple of hours--swimming, running or playing basketball at the gym. If you're more comfortable with high culture, go to a play, concert or symphony or tour an art museum. Browse through a bookstore and point out to each other all the books you like and hate. Or indulge a frivolous mood. Go to a local arcade. Play at batting cages. Sit on a bench in the park and play gin rummy. There are no rules for the "fun" part of a date. Do whatever turns you and your date on and takes you outside of yourselves for a relaxing afternoon.
Step 3

Eat somewhere new. Try a new cuisine. Visit a new restaurant you've always wanted to patronize. Try a dinner theater. If you and your date hesitate to be adventurous, then simply try a new dish at your favorite restaurant. But do at least take the risk together. Sharing a new culinary adventure isn't only tasty--it's an amazing bonding experience.
Step 4

As darkness falls, go somewhere romantic where you can cuddle up or simply talk in private--or at least semi-private. Stop to have dessert. Drink coffee as you walk along the beach. Go to your place or your date's place. Making love isn't a requirement, but spending time together and feeling comfortable is. Of course, keep safety in mind always and only go someplace private with somebody you trust.

Tips

Movies aren't totally verboten. If you want to see a movie but it's something you always do, at least vary the routine. See a different genre of movie or go to the theater instead of watching a DVD.
