It’s funny how different the children in the same family can experience life. I remember in sixth grade science class, we got to make electromagnet motors and grow pea plants. My little sister ended up with a very different science experience in sixth grade... their big experiment was melting ice cubes over a Bunsen burner. Needless to say, it was difficult to get her into science after that.
When big storms hit, it suddenly dawns on me that while I might be prepared for the wrath of Mother Nature, I am not in any way prepared for the wrath of the six bored children stuck inside my house because of a storm.
In order to be prepared for a storm, the American Red Cross recommends these supplies:
Creativity is the residue of time wasted. - Einstein
With school out and the lazy days of summer settling in, I wanted to write a blog about creativity, but I was stuck. I’m too busy to be inspired, I thought, staring blankly at my computer screen. Creativity is linked to laziness, downtime, daydreaming, and genius.

Ah, bedtime. The kids' teeth are brushed; their pj's are on; the book has been read, and then read again. They have been kissed goodnight. At which point begins THE BIG STALL. "I'm hungry"; "I'm thirsty"; "I need to go to the bathroom"; "I need to call my broker"; etc.

From launchers to hose adapters, the tools that exist to upgrade the water balloon experience are endless. Still, even with just a bag of balloons and a hose, nothing says "hot summer afternoon warfare" like a water balloon.
Whether you are hosting a Memorial Day picnic, a summer birthday party or a Labor Day extravaganza, put together some water balloon games for splashing time.
To Pop or Not to Pop
