Has your best friend at mommy group been more interested in listening to her iPod than stories about your child’s sleeping habits? Is she unusually sullen about this weekend’s plans? Developed a sudden penchant for cut off demin shorts paired with ankle booties?
Fresh air, freedom, friends and running around. For many kids, recess is the one opportunity during the day to get outside and run around. But rain, snow, smog or even cold air can put a damper on outdoor play -- especially for school recesses.

The great outdoors are beautiful, but sometimes capturing the scene can be difficult. You want to start a vegetable garden, but you aren't sure what to plant or when to plant it. While it does take time and effort to become a master gardener, getting a garden started is not terribly difficult. You don't need to have a large outdoor area to grow your own vegetables. Fresh herbs spice up your pizza, pasta and nearly any other meal you cook. Herbs at the supermarket are often expensive and there's no guarantee of the freshness. An herb garden, either indoors or out, provides you with fresh herbs all summer long. If you choose an indoor herb garden, the fresh flavor and scent is available year-round. Start with a few herbs to get a feel for the process before expanding to other types.
Growing spices and herbs in your kitchen can save you money, but more importantly, it can provide you with platefuls of flavor. While outdoor plants may have a better chance at surviving and thriving, indoor spice and herb plants can survive winter months and give you bursts of flavor all year long.
