We just rescued the cutest little English Bulldog-French Bulldog mix named Bosco from a rescue organization in Southern California. He’s an absolute bundle of joy - even with all of the slobbering, snoring, burping, wheezing, and farting.
Last week, Kate Middleton finally revealed the name of the royal puppy (Lupo), and it got us thinking about celebrities and their pets.
Lots of stars are animal lovers - in fact, our very own Brooke Burke has quite the menagerie of pets with cats, dogs, fish, a turtle and even a bearded dragon taking up residence at Chateau Charvet.
Maybe the puppy wasn’t a bad idea, Heather thinks as she arrives at the dog park. Sun shines across the wide-open field. It’s a beautiful winter day in Southern California. A tall fence surrounds the perimeter of the large flat grassy area, with several posted signs enforcing various rules of conduct and health.
Meet Pokey.
Here he is when he was only a few weeks old. My babysitter got him with Rain after she conned me into a reward for sleeping in her own bed. If you’ve been reading my posts, you know that was a huge scam. I’m the sucker. Still fighting through sleepless nights and now I’ve added another responsibility to my brood.
A lot of people find the holidays stressful... but have you ever considered that your pet might feel the same way?
Imagine you're only about eight inches tall and roughly 10 pounds. Now imagine that your world is suddenly full of new stuff, like strangely breakable colored balls hung from a giant tree and people you've never met before!
Grabbing your keys, kissing the kids and rushing out the door is certainly a familiar routine for most busy moms. Taking the time to formally introduce your dog to the babysitter... is not.
Do you have any pets? If your kids love animals, but you dread all the money you have to spend on vet bills, food even clothing - I'm right there with you!
We have a long list of costly creatures that have taken up residence at one time or another in our home. Here's a general price breakdown on all the different pets we've welcomed into the family (and the budget).
OMG there are 14 residents living in our house!!!!
We used to be a very busy family of six, but over the past few years, my family has doubled! It’s a motley crew and every bit as eclectic as the Dancing With The Stars cast.
As if I didn’t have enough on my plate, my responsibilities now include: booking groomers, turning off heat lights at night, buying fresh kale, worms and crickets, cleaning up dead mice, and pooper scooper duties. The last of which is my all time favorite. Yeah right!
Want some introductions? Here are all the residents of Chateau Charvet:
This is Tabby, my badass cat that even my dogs avoid. He is fat, aggressive, and he hates me. (Not unlike my children, on some days.)
Pets have an innate ability to live in the now and stay present, as do children. Somewhere along the way as we grow older, we lose touch with that natural ability. Instead of following this path what if we can influence our children to stay present, having a profound impact on their lifelong happiness?
Well, just when things were calming down, we adopted a dog. My friend, Stephanie, who's very involved with rescuing dogs, found A.J. for us -- he's a 2-year-old Maltipoo whose days were numbered. We couldn't resist!
