I recently had the wonderful opportunity to talk to my cousin, Michelle Leonardo (a.k.a. Miss New Jersey USA 2012) about her beauty routine.
And of course, I wanted to pass all the great tips and tricks I learned along to all of you and your daughters.
Eyebrows are an important beauty feature, but they can easily grow out of control. You've probably seen some eyebrow don'ts, such as brows that are too bushy, too thin or the tadpole--a kind of eyebrow mullet, if you will, thick at the beginning with a too-drastic tapering off that doesn't quite make it to the end. You can avoid all of these eyebrow mistakes once you learn some beauty tips for tweezing them.
Waxing, shaving, plucking, lasers, etc. As women, we're expected to stay hair-free and silky smooth during the summer months. But how do you narrow down your options and choose the hair removal method that's best for you? It's tough! Waxing tends to be a solid in-between technique: it's longer lasting than shaving, but not as intense (or painful!...so I hear) as laser hair removal. So here I am to tell you about the ins and outs (or ons and offs) of waxing...
Named two of “The 25 Most Powerful Stylists in Hollywood,” Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn are famous for dressing style icons such as Venus Global Ambassador, Jennifer Lopez. Because we got an exclusive interview with the duo to ask them about style, body shapes, and the all important day looming near if you have a teenage daughter...PROM!
You two have styled a LOT of celebrities. Who has been the greatest pleasure to style and why?
Warm weather is on its way! This means getting pretty pedicures to show off in new sandals, trips to the beach with the family, and - horror of horrors - tank tops and shorts! Yes, this is the season when people really start to buckle down with their fitness and health. After all, those extra pounds you hid under big sweaters may have kept you warm in the winter, but now they are just depleting your self-confidence whenever you try on a sleeveless top or cute dress.
Under-eye swelling -- sometimes called "bags under the eyes" -- is rarely a serious health threat. Still, it can be seriously irritating when you want to look your best. Puffy, swollen areas under the eyes are not only unattractive, but they can be uncomfortable as well. Luckily, under-eye swelling will usually go down with treatment.
Accessorize with style by adding a cute hat to your outfit. You can pull off a hat, even if you have short hair, as long as it's the right hat. A head that completely covers your head and hair won't be as flattering on you as a hat that allows a bit of hair to peek out. You should also keep your face shape in mind when choosing a hat to wear. Your hat doesn't have to match your outfit perfectly, but should coordinate with it well.
Whether you lost weight and can finally fit into your skinny jeans again or you are getting ready for a trip and want to take your favorite pair along, it can be disheartening to pull them out find they are wrinkled. Don't worry, there are several things you can do to get them looking neat and tidy again.
Shaving is an inexpensive, efficient way to get rid of underarm and leg hair, but it comes at a cost. Shaving bumps -- sometimes called "razor rash" -- and ingrown hairs are typical hazards associated with this hair removal technique. Razor-irritated skin is difficult to treat, and many women may simply have to wait until body hair grows back out. The secret to preventing razor bumps is all in the tool you use and the way you shave.
Mother Nature may not have endowed you with the goods to fill out that bathing suit top, but that doesn't mean you have to resort to surgery to get what you want. In fact, Mother Nature herself may provide the ingredients for improving upon the bounty she gave -- or didn't give -- you. While few scientific studies support claims of breast enlargement for nonsurgical methods, anecdotal evidence suggests that some home remedies may help increase your breast size. Be sure to discuss your plans with your health care provider.
