A recent issue of The New York Times featured the results of a study which found that, among women under age 30, a majority (53 percent) were unwed when they gave birth. The article went on to cite studies which say that offspring of single mothers “face elevated risks of falling into poverty, failing in school or suffering emotional and behavioral problems.”
A 33-year-old man from Tennessee with 30 children appeared in court this week to ask the state for child-support help.
Desmond Hatchett owes money to 11 different women for the 30 children he’s fathered - believed to be a record in Knox county. The youngest are toddlers, the oldest is 14.
“I had four kids in the same year. Twice," he told WVLT-TV back in 2009. “I didn’t intend to have this many children. It just happened.”

A new survey out of the U.K. found that more than a third of divorce filings last year contained the word Facebook, according to Divorce Online, a legal services firm.
“Women, after they turn 40, often hit a point when they decide the world should be all about THEM. They just get tired of taking care of people and go through a selfish period. It doesn’t matter how wonderful a man is it. It is just where women are at this stage.”
