My five-year-old daughter is a poor sport.
She cheats at Trouble, Hi Ho Cherry-O, Chutes and Ladders, Go Fish and basically every game we play. I don’t know if cheating is the right word... well, yeah, it actually is.

People often ask what my kids are into and how I manage all the activities. Managing it all is a constant work in progress, but as far as current interests go, this is how it’s looking:
Son Number One (12 years old)
"Up All Night" is a clever and candid look at a couple attempting to adjust to life after baby. The hit comedy stars Christina Applegate and Will Arnett as new parents, and it's funny... because it's true.
They argue about has gotten less sleep, attempt to relive their wild days on date nights without the baby, and try to maintain their relationships with kid-less friends (Maya Rudolph is hilarious as Applegate's high-maintenance boss and best friend).
But what about the real star of the show... baby Amy!
Fans of "Desperate Housewives" watched her character raise six plus kids while living on Wisteria Lane, but Felicity Huffman doesn't just play a mom on TV.
The woman known for her role as Lynette on the beloved ABC series has two daughters (Sophia, 12, and Georgia, 10) with her husband and fellow actor William H. Macy.
She's also the founder of What the Flicka? - a website for moms and women to come laugh, share stories, tips, and experiences.
Hello readers of ModernMom! I'm the new mom blogger on the block, and it is a huge privilege for me to add my name to the list of truly accomplished women who write for this site.
But first, I have a confession:
I'm not really an expert. I just play one on TV -- or on my webcam.
When I began my motherhood journey in April of 2010, I became so overwhelmed with the advice, the books, the experts, the advocates, and the mom bullies who insist that there is a "perfect" way to parent.
Last week was a big one for my family. My oldest started kindergarten (woo hoo!).
The other day I was at Target (shocker!) browsing through an excellent selection of eight dollar tank tops. They were the extra long style which I happen to need since I am in possession of a serious muffin top, yet I insist on wearing low rise pants.
Usually I blog about tablet technology (which you can read about here) but since I’ve spent the last five days with my two young boys, 3 years old and 4 ½, I thought I would change things up a bit.
If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they’ll kill you. - Oscar Wilde
