Guess what y'all? I've got a baby in my belly again.... and he/she has been there for almost 7 months.
Flame retardant products cannot prevent fires but they can work as a front line of defense. Fire retardants act to slow down or stop a fire from spreading. Plastics, woods, and fabric made with fire retardant materials resist flames.
As I write this, I'm getting ready to celebrate my baby girl's first birthday. (So soon?) Excitement, love and fulfillment runs through me to no end... a very different scenario than last year this same time.
Last fall, I was weeks away from giving birth and seriously worrying about my underwear.
Ali Landry has a lot going for her. The former Miss USA is a model and actress, best known as the super-hot Doritos Girl in some especially memorable Super Bowl commercials and for her role on the UPN sitcom "Eve." She's also married to a handsome film director, with an adorable four-year-old and a baby on the way.
Pregnancy is a full time job!
If you've never been pregnant, you are probably thinking "Whats the big deal?" You get pregnant, wait 10 months and then you have a beautiful new baby. Well, for those of us who have been there and done that we know its a lot harder than that.
A child’s IQ can be affected by the amount of pesticides their mother is exposed to while pregnant. High amounts of exposure to certain pesticides while pregnant have been linked to lower IQs in school-aged children.
The harmful pesticide is organophosphates. It’s commonly found on berries, green beans, and other various fruits and vegetables. Outside of the grocery store, the pesticide is often used in homes and gardens.
The other night in one of the childbirth classes I teach, we were talking about pushing and the moment that your beautiful child comes out into the world and is placed in your arms. I was sort of choked up thinking about how beautiful the moment was when my first child was placed into my arms and how it made every minute of the 28 hour labor worth it. One of the moms asked me if I got a “push present” after I had each child.
My scar, which is incredibly small, yet still a little numb, is a constant reminder, so while I'm thinking about it, I thought I'd share some "lessons learned".
1) You’d better get some sleep now!
Sure, when your friend’s newborn enters the world, she may lose so much rest that she’ll feel she’s been hit by a Mac truck. But isn’t it a bit early to be reminding her of that? In fact, her pregnancy symptomology itself- no matter how early it is- might be making it all too difficult for her to sleep in the here and now. Even if not, this clichéd advice will fall on deaf ears, and only serve to make her dread the newborn phase.
If you think being pregnant means you have license to camp out on the couch with your favorite television shows and a stockpile of pickles and ice cream, think again. Though rest and relaxation are important parts of a healthy pregnancy, regular aerobic exercise is equally important, according to the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
