Cool Girl Birthday Party Ideas

Let your little girl live out her birthday wishes.

As your little girl advances another year in age--probably too quickly for your liking--you can provide the opportunity to celebrate the event by planning a gala for her and her friends. You can delight and surprise your daughter on her special day in many ways. Select a birthday theme that suits her personality and interests to ensure that she has a party that she will likely not forget for years to come.

Customize Your Girl's Party

They might be similar in some areas, but no two girls are exactly the same. Don't assume, just because you are throwing a cool birthday party for a girl, that the space must be festooned with pink and full of frilly details. Take time to consider the specific interests of the birthday girl. Plan an event that will be to her liking.

Be One With the Animals

Animal lovers will likely enjoy a party that features an assortment of four-legged creatures. If throwing a cool birthday party for a young girl, consider renting a pony. Many companies will bring ponies directly to your house and set up a riding area in your backyard. You can also arrange for a visit from a mobile petting zoo, or take your party guests to a real petting zoo and allow them to giggle and squeal as they rub the rough coats of an assortment of animals.

Parade of Princesses

If your girl fancies herself a little princess, create a cool party with a regal theme. Ask party goers to come dressed as princesses, and host a princess-only tea time. Serve up tasty treats, and allow party guests to dine together, using their best princess manners. To make the event special, take care to decorate the party area in lush velveteens and purples so that it resembles a royal palace.

Roll Out the Red Carpet

Give your girl the Hollywood treatment with a celebrity-themed party. To set up for this gala, create a red carpet leading into your house. Enlist the help of other parents to act as paparazzi, lining the carpet and eagerly trying to snap a shot of each girl as she enters. Ask the girls to come dressed as their favorite actresses or singers. Inside the party, play music or show movies--just like they would at a cool Hollywood premiere.

Explore the Arts

Plan a crafting activity with your creative girl on her birthday. Arrange a crafting party in your house, purchasing supplies to create an array of crafts, and allowing party guests to create the products of their choice. Or, venture out and visit a paint-your-own-pottery studio. Purchase a piece for each guest to decorate.
