Homemade Recycled Paper-Making With Children
Long before paper was made in large manufacturing plants, paper was made by hand. Parents can take their children back in time and enjoy the art of paper-making with their children. In addition to creating a hand-made craft, making recycled paper provides an opportunity to teach children the importance of reusing, renewing and recycling.

Ingredients
Scrap recycled paper
Electric blender or food processor
Warm water
2 12-by-12 pieces of window screen
8-by-10 wooden frame (glass removed)
Duct tape
Deep pan or basin
Recycled newsprint or newspaper
Sponge
Iron

Tips
Before peeling your paper off of the screen, be sure that all excess moisture is gone. Too much moisture can make it difficult to get the paper off of the screen in one piece.
