People tend to outgrow things, especially during growth spurts and weight gains. This may result in a change in dress sizes, making it harder to fit into their clothes, especially jeans. Some clothing materials are easier to adjust or stretch than others. For example, rayon materials are more elastic than denims or corduroys. Another added factor is the style jeans. Jeans made with garters on the waistline can easily stretch without any alteration; however, those made without garters are harder. Denim jeans can be expensive; therefore, rather than buying new ones people look into ways to stretch them.
