Let's Craft is a special feature full of great crafts, inspiration and DIY projects that are perfect for any Modern Mom!
This project comes from crafty mom Ianthe Morrow - "Today I'm going to teach you how make little terrariums that will remind you of the beach or whatever makes you happy."
Here's how to make mini terrariums:
Supplies
Directions
For the first example, we'll be using a jar that comes with a lid.
Fill the container with craft sand.
Place the tiny items of your choosing on top of the sand. In our video, this example was done as a beach themed terrarium with tiny sea shells set on top of the sand.
Close the container up with a lid.
For the second example, we'll be using a votive holder.
Cut out a piece of cardboard to serve as the base of your terrarium. It should be the same size and shape as the mouth of your votive holder.
Using a hot glue gun, and supervising any little ones nearby, attach small objects of your choosing. In our video, this example was done as a bird themed terrarium using tiny decorative eggs and a little bird.
Finally, glue the base to the mouth of the votive (the votive will be upside down, forming the display of your terrarium).
These are fun to make with your children, and it teaches them fine motor skills. They're also fun to make with friends as part of a decorative tablescape.
