My Confession

Hi,

I'm gearing up for the last week of school. It was party after party starting this weekend. Neriah went to a slumber party Friday night. Her friend organized a dance contest, so of course yours truly was judging.

Yesterday was the 20th anniversary for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation. They throw a huge carnival every year and it's a perfect day of fun for the whole family. I promoted the charity and event on the morning news last week, and was so proud to be part of such an important cause. I wish I had more time to donate, but these days I am totally buried with my family. The kids had a blast at the carnival; I worked in the Disney booth. Miley Cyrus performed, and boy has she become a sexy little girl! It was a HUGE moment for my kids. So bizarre to suddenly see a little girl grow up. I am not looking forward to that transition with my own.

David and I are trying to put together an adventurous road trip this summer for the kids. We want to mix it up and show them some different things. It is an important topic lately that David and I are going back and forth on. How do we keep our kids grounded? Will they grow up thinking this life is normal? How can we keep them humble and instill the important values in them. I did not grow up with the privileges that I have today, so I totally appreciate them. It's really important to us that our kids have the same values.

I have to fess up. I fell off the green wagon, BIG TIME! I had a house-full of people for the Lakers Game and I served salad, cupcakes, garlic bread, cupcakes and pizza, oh and did I mention cupcakes? So I did the only thing a girl could do, I ate it all!

I got right back on track this morning, and had green grapes for breakfast. I did take the weekend off, but I'm enjoying the green choices, so I will give it a shot again this week.
