Happy New Year….I am still basking in memories from an interesting, challenging yet still amazing 2012. It flew by, way too fast - maybe because I was so consumed with my cancer scare and going through all the necessary medical procedures. But, it’s over, and I can happily say that I kicked Cancer’s a*&! I am feeling fantastic!

Happy Hanukkah! It's a pretty special one this year. I have quite the collection of handmade menorahs from over the years and it's a beautiful sight to see them all lit up with love.

It's Day 7 post-surgery and I'm feeling pretty good. I'm quite sore but I have to say, every single day seems to be getting better.

I just got the results back from all of my tests and great news - the thyroid cancer has been removed from my body and all my lymph nodes are clear. So I'm hoping that this is the end of the story. Woohoo!!! And thank GOD!

The past few months have been a seriously eye-opening experience for me.

One of the things I've really learned is how much what I'm going through in my life affects the people around me who care about me and love me.

And I just wanted to give you guys some insight in case, God forbid you're going through your own medical challenges or possibly you know someone who is.

Life is back to reality now...

I traded in my ball gowns for sweats, my hair is in a frizzy ponytail and the glamorous ballroom luxuries are wrapped.

I miss everyone at Dancing With The Stars already. What an amazing All-Star season, I had a blast! But I already have dressing room withdrawal - my home away from home, my peaceful cave and confirmation that work truly is a pleasure for busy moms!

I have just finished responding to a gazillion texts and e-mails and I continue to read the heartwarming comments on ModernMom since publishing my video last week.

I’m sorry I left you hanging for the past few months regarding my thyroid results. It’s been a crazy experience.

Here’s my story:

I haven’t been blogging this past week because I have been in a bit of a mommy rut, dealing with some challenging child issues. Thankfully I have three other kids to balance out the draining tough times with one of my beloved babies. This week, being a parent has totally sucked!
