Family Fun in Orlando, Florida
Looking for a way to have out-of-this-world fun to have with the whole family, without even leaving the country? Orlando, Florida should be at the top of your list!
But there’s more to this touristy hot spot than good ol’ Disney World. There's so much to do and see, it's no wonder that it's one of our favorite vacation destinations. Here are some of family fun options:
Boggy Creek
Boggy Creek offers airboat rides that are great for kids of all ages. The airboat skims the water while passengers look out for all the exotic and exciting animals that you might not get to see at home.
We got lucky enough to spot three alligators basking in the reeds. We even have the pictures to prove it thanks to our super friendly and knowledgeable driver who didn't mind stopping each and every time we saw a photo opp.
Nickelodeon Hotel
Themed rooms with bunk beds, amazing pools, even a huge water slide - what's not to love about accommodations like that?
The Nickelodeon Hotel makes both kids and adults feel right at home. In fact, you and your family can participate in a game show. But beware: you might get slimed! (Luckily, it's much more fun than it looks on TV).
Trust me, your kids will think you’re the best parents ever after a visit to the Nickelodeon Hotel.
Universal Studios Orlando
Universal Studios consists of two parks, but we all know that the big draw is The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™. Experience Butterbeer™, get sorted, and make sure you and the family pick up some wands. The rides are great for the whole family - in fact, the only problem is trying to get your kids to leave!
When you're ready to return to Muggle country, check out the rest of Universal Studios’ Island of Adventure. There are plenty more rides and fun shows that you absolutely have to check out. And if you want to get a cocktail after the kids are in bed, don't miss the CityWalk - an entertainment hotspot at night.
WonderWorks and the Outta Control Magic Comedy Dinner show
No trip to Orlando is complete without checking out WonderWorks. WonderWorks is basically an amusement park for the mind with over 100 exhibits that combine education and entertainment (and the building is upside down).
Two favorites are experiencing winds at the same speed of a tornado and laying on a bed of nails.
Then you must see the Outta Control Magic Comedy Dinner show - this hilarious show is pure comedy for the whole family while you eat pizza, popcorn and salad!
Of course, you can't miss Disney World, but the real stand out attraction is Animal Kingdom. It was amazing to see the live animals on the safari and the kids will love digging for dinosaur bones. And last but not least, the Epcot fireworks are an experience that you absolutely need to see with your family.
So grab your kids and hop on that plane or pack up the car for a getaway to Orlando that you will all remember forever.
