The Perks of Parenting Trade Shows
I recently attended a really fun consumer trade show in Los Angeles called PLUSH, geared towards new and soon-to-be parents.
These types of parenting consumer trade shows are growing in popularity nationwide, rapidly spreading to new cities all the time. At a show like PLUSH, parents have the opportunity to interact directly with companies of baby and parenting products to ask questions, try products out and learn all about what they have to offer.
PLUSH was filled with amazing companies such as Orbit Strollers, Bumbleride Strollers, Zoli Feeding and Baby Accessories, Munchkin Products, Plum Organics Baby Food, and so many more. There were also great local services being demonstrated such as CleanBeeBaby, an eco friendly cleaning service for baby car seats and strollers, Luludew, a local diaper service, as well as local photographers for your baby, or even balloon artists and caterers for your upcoming birthday parties!
These types of shows are a great way to learn about all the services geared towards parents in your area. Many times shows like these feature guest speakers who are parenting specialists to discuss topics relevant to new parents. There were many fantastic speakers at PLUSH, such as Dr. Harvey Karp who spoke about swaddling, and Jessica Alba who spoke about her new company, The Honest Co.
But Mamas, this wasn’t all about learning, there was a lot of food and entertainment as well! There was a fun maternity fashion show featuring great maternity brands such as Ingrid & Isabel clothing and our timi & leslie diaper bags! There were also balloon artists, crafts, and an incredible local kids band, Story Time Fun Land, playing music to keep all the toddlers happy!
I brought my 3 year old who had a blast, not to mention enjoyed getting to try lots of special treats such as mini gourmet doughnuts from an adorable company called Dough a Deer. Overall, this was a really fun and informative show, and was packed to the gills with lots of pregnant mamas, and dads wearing stickers that boasted “I’m the Dad” - so cute! My husband, daughter and I had so much fun!
Leslie Newton, founder of timi & leslie diaper bags, created her company in 1999 when she realized there was a huge void in the marketplace for stylish, functional diaper bags.
Besides creating fashionable diaper bags, Leslie loves doing crafts with her 3 year old daughter, and going on lots of family outings. Leslie loves anything vintage or mid-century modern - clothes, furniture, jewelry, fabric - all which have a big influence on the timi & leslie aesthetic.
